The bibliographic recording of the literature of Düsseldorf is an important basis to thoroughly exploring the history of printing and culture of the city. That is why, in 2005, the ULB published the “Verzeichnis Düsseldorfer Drucke” (register of Düsseldorf prints) on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of letterpress printing in Düsseldorf. Based on preparatory work from the 19th century by – among others – Ludwig Merländer, the first complete list of prints first published in Düsseldorf between 1555 and 1806 was compiled, not only from the holdings of the North Rhine-Westphalian State Library Düsseldorf but also from other libraries and archives. For your ease of use, we provide the Düsseldorf Prints from the holdings of the ULB Düsseldorf in a digitized form on the basis of this bibliography.
